With Jesus Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension into glory, the gospel message was fully unveiled. This was to fulfill thousands of years of prophecy and the various ceremonies and events that foreshadowed the Lord Jesus. He had come to live and die on behalf of sinners – bringing salvation from sin and God’s judgment. The gospel announces God’s beautiful accomplishment in Christ, sinners find blessing by grace through faith.
Sadly, this message is being obscured in many quarters. Christ has become more of a moral teacher than a Savior, as if all we needed was a little encouragement. The Church is becoming more focused on felt needs than spiritual, eternal needs. It is replacing the proclamation of grace with “tips for living”, entertainment, and motivational speeches. Sadly, the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition has not been immune to these problems; many have abandoned their calling of preaching Christ crucified.
Westside Reformed Church (Cincinnati) has been planted to deliver the gospel of grace to sinners. But one congregation isn’t enough. It is our prayer that God would use us to plant many other churches around Greater Cincinnati and Southeast Indiana, who will faithfully announce that Christ’s righteousness is our only righteousness before God.
If you are at all interested in being part of this, please, get in touch. Without local support, church-planting becomes much more difficult. If we come into contact with some interested families, we can begin to explore whether it would be wise to undertake the planting of another. Less than a year ago, WRC began with less than 20 committed souls. Could you be part of a new church plant in Dearborn County?
