Ephesians 3:14-19 “Paul’s Goal in Prayer”

Passage: Ephesians 3:14-19
Service Type:

Paul prayer-reports are incredibly beneficial for us.  One one hand, we understand what he's trying to accomplish through the rest of the letter.  And on the other hand, we learn what we should prioritize in our prayers.  Though he was suffering in prison, his great concern was the maturity of Christ's Church.  He prayed that the fullness of God's blessing would be theirs - that they would receive spiritual power, that they would be transformed by Christ's indwelling presence, and that they would grow in their understanding of God's incomprehensible love.  Though it's important to pray for temporal things, e.g., "give us this day our daily bread", we must make it a priority to pray for our spiritual maturity in order that we would endure the attacks of our spiritual enemies.
