Psalm 2 “The Blessed Refuge”
This is the second Psalm of the preface. In it, four speakers (the nations, God, God’s King, and the narrator) give us a glimpse of the spiritual battle that has raged since the Fall. The nations hate God and His King but are terrified once God’s King is enthroned upon Zion. From that cosmic mountain, the risen Christ (Acts 13:33) reigns in power. Though He will subdue His spiritual enemies, sinners are offered blessing. God only demands that they submit to (i.e., “kiss”) His Son.
