Eph. 2:1-7 “From Grave to Throne”
In a number of different ways, Paul's letter to the Ephesians answers the age-old question, "Why are we here?" In chapter 1, we learn that part of God's purpose for creation was to reconcile all things in Christ (v. 10). In chapter 2, we discover that God is raising the dead to life, taking them from the grave to Christ's heavenly throne. This is in order that His grace might be displayed for all eternity. He is lavishing blessing upon His former enemies, though they were depraved from birth, re-enlisting them as His blessed People in Christ. This is all accomplished by grace alone, in order that the Church might become a most radiant trophy of His astounding grace.
